I caught Chloe sleeping.... like that:

And took advantage of the moment, to show you guys her incision:

Isn't that cool? A single stitch, one little X... that we're saying bye bye to tomorrow..... yeay!!!

Chloe, get ready for some running in the park with your friends time... :happyhappy:

:woohoo: I bet both of you will feel much better after they're out!

Abby had dissolvable stitches so she was good to go after about 10 days, I think.

I know it'll be a relief for both of you when that stitch comes out. :happyhappy: Eleanor, I agree that's a lot of shaved area for one stitch! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

I know... I was so upset to see that at first... it's starting to grow back, but it's just a little down still... The tummy I don't mind that much, it's the sides... oh well.... as long as it's behind us (mostly behind Chloe though) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

That was a really small incision, was that from her spay? When Sydney was done, it was at least 5 times that length and went straight up her belly.

It is looking pretty red though, I would keep an eye on it just to be sure.

Wow, that is amazing! Is this a fairly new procedure style?

I don't think I've ever heard of this in Oz before?

Our girls had heaps of stitches, and although you now can't see the scar, it looked horrible at the time! Especially when Sally accidently stood on Leia's tummy and made blood come out of the stitches area /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif That was scary.

The vet said that some redness around the stitches is normal. And they will see her first thing in the morning so I'm not worried.

Erin, I don't know since when they use laser, but they offered it for $50 and explained that it's less blood, less healing time and less painfull for the dog. I couldn't say no to that!!! It didn't bother her at all, and she didn't bother it, so I'm glad for that. WHY DID THEY HAVE TO SHAVE SO MUCH THOUGH? :conf6:

That's the annoying part, they then grow hair back ALL OVER their tummies that were smooth before the operation /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I used to love my little girls bellies, now they are covered in hair!

Can't so no to a cheaper operation... mine cost nearly $800 for both of our girls /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

according to the vet it will range around $200 for Dixie's

that is odd that they had to prep that far, but it must be a "incase" things happen procedure.

Wow. Such a small little area. Beasley had the full cut up her tummy.

Stitches have been out for a week, and everything seems to be healing really nicely.

Okay, so it's out. They took her to the "back" of the clinic, and less than a minute later she was prancing her way back to me. One little funny beagle I have.
The vet said it healed very nicely and that all is good.

Time to :animal18: and play...

Aww - glad to hear Chloe is all good to go now! Boomer was neutered last Friday and just got his two stitches out this past Saturday. It's a lot less painful for a boy doggie though!
Happy recovery!

Look out NYC, Chloe is back!

I found a picture of Jersey from a few days after her spay. It looks like she only had a couple of stitches too. I remember thinking how much smaller her incision was than Amber's.

So pleased to hear that Chloe is over her op. It could be some time before the hair grows back, but she will still enjoy belly rubs.
