Hi, all! Maggie is home from the vet after today's tests and resting comfortably. She was there for several hours and the vet told me that, after a little bit of whimpering, she quieted down and slept most of the time. Blood serum was overnighted to UTenn. Since one of the tests is only run on Mondays, we will have a wait until all the results come back. Unfortunately, bad news is that Maggie lost another lb. since her last weigh-in ten days ago. Vet suggested that I try giving Maggie some low-fat prescription canned food by Royal Canin to try and stablize her weight -- he gave me two different kinds that have different flavors. Good news is that Maggie scarfed down 1/2 can of food when we got home!! Then she kept jumping up on the washing machine because she saw the white bag the cans were in. She hasn't been this excited about food in a long, long time. Because she hadn't eaten since yesterday, I didn't want to give her a whole can at once so will space it out this evening. Vet said she can get a can and a half a day and can mix in dry w/d that I have. (Canned food stinks ...

ukey: )
My vet has a call into the internal med specialist at the hospital here as he wants Maggie to have another ultrasound. Think I want to wait until UTenn results are back so specialist will have that info.
I'm back to work tomorrow -- probably should wear a sign that says "I'm not contagious" due to persistent cough. My doctor called today to see how I was doing (I know, amazing!) and he said he has seen this linger for 2-3 weeks in others.
Thanks to all for your good wishes and prayers!
