I know I've heard Jamie talk about Abby knowing when something's not right with her mommy, but how about the rest of you? I've been sick the past few days with a terrible cold. Yesterday I spent the day in bed. I was freezing, even with a long sleeved shirt and two blankets on me. Jersey curled up under the covers with me and stayed with me all day while I was feeling bad. It's like she knew something was wrong with her momma'. Everytime I started coughing she'd come out from under the covers to check on me. It was nice to have her there with me while I was feeling so lousy. As sick as I was, it was so much better having her there by my side. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my Jersey girl?

So sorry you are sick, Jen, and am glad that you have Jersey by your side! When I had the flu last month, my doctor's assistant told me that, when I had a high fever, not to bundle up under the blankets -- that that would make my fever go even higher. I had never heard that before. Do have some chicken soup -- it really works!

Hope you are feeling better! I am going to the Dr at 8am to hopefully get lots of drugs for a sinus infection. I would love nothing more than to lay in bed all day surrounded by my Girls!

oh how i hate a sinus infection. i think i might rather cut my own arm off than have one.
i get from my doc cephelexin 500 mg.
that stuff knocks it out pretty fast.

jen

bernie knows when im sick and wont leave my side either. i guess thats why im sleeping in the floor next to his kennel while hes going through his recovery.he would do it for me i know it. thing is, when i have a cold/fever. i try to keep him away, im afraid he will get it too.

judy

ive heard the same thing. i wait til its pretty bad, then take as many hot showers as i can while jumping in bed under covers until the water heater warms back up. i'll do that all day, then POP! the fever is gone.

Sorry folks aren't feeling so well. What a wonderful beagle girl Jersey is. I haven't been sick much so I'm not sure how Cecil and Brandy would be. When Cecil was recovering from her cest removal, Brandy was such a good and caring sister. Both girls hung with us and Cecil slept on the sofa a lot. Brandy just napped in the great room doggie bed. We have them in their room and in the great room where we spend a big part of our time. I know that when I am sad, Cecil sits close to me and Brandy "hugs" me. Jersey is such a sweet girl. Your are very lucky, Jen. Hope you get to feeling good real soon.

My honorary beetle, Olivia, who has been my little soulmate for 16 years knows me well enough to know if I need her extra love. She is especially tuned in if I am upset or crying. There she is.

If I were layed up in bed, they would be right there with me...they're always looking for an excuse to lay in bed and sleep. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Feel better, Jen and Tammy!

I hate sinus infections. When I was in college I had one every three months. (there must have been bad air circulation at the school) Eventually my doctor couldn't give me antibiotics anymore because I was becoming immune to them.

Caesar and Sox know when I'm not well (either emotionally or physically) and they'll snuggle up to me and never leave my side. Sox's vet told me that animals know when you walk through the door exactly what mood your in. On Sunday night I found out that my best friends brother died and I was a wreck. I think Caesar was trying to cheer me up because he got into the bathroom and stole the toilet brush. Then he ran around the living room like a lunatic with this gross toilet brush in his mouth. :pukey: He would stop every minute or so to see if I was still watching him. Normally I would have taken it away from him but I wasn't in the mood.

I love my fur-kids!

They just know. Its because they are so sensitive. When things aren't right they feel insecure and they find their security in us.

Bama (Beagle #1) never left my wifes side when she came home from the hospital and all through her recovery a few years ago. He is the reason we have Vinny.

And then young Vince, kept checking on me after my not 1 but 2 knee procedures. It seemed like he knew something was wrong with me, but couldn't figure it out. So he would just lie down next to me and figure it out later.

Can't imagine life without one.

It's such a blessing to have a dog in your life. They seem to know exactly what you need when you need it. Wyatt is always right by my side when I cry and always tries to do something to make me laugh (I know that sounds crazy, but it's true!). I hope that you are feeling better and hug that Jersey girl for us!!!
