We rescued Leo in 2016 when he was thought to be 9 months old. He was 12 inches and 18 pounds back then. Now he’s 13 inches and 21 pounds and is the perfect beagle. Just a joy in every way! But we’ve always wondered if he’s a pure beagle or is he part something else? I just looked up pictures of blue ticks and there are so many similarities, except his spots are light tan. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

We got him from the Heritage Humane Society, so we’ll never know his ancestry. You’re probably right that the absence of blue ticking is a tell tale sign that he’s not a blue tick.
