Gulf Coast BW'ers, Heaven forbid, I can fit two more furkids in the house should you have to head this way. Our Governor is already going into emergency prep mode getting shelters and buses ready. If it heads towards us and we catch the eastern side, I'LL be the one on the run!!

Be safe! I know a lot of people are scared of California's earthquakes, but to be honest, your hurricanes and tornadoes scare me a lot more! Hope everybody stays safe and that Gustav doesn't make any visits inland.

I'll be hoping for the best for you guys too! Florida is still cleaning up from Fay and that was only a tropical storm.

While the damage from a Hurricane is usually worse, at least I can get away from it. Lord knows the news gives us plenty of warning. You never know when an Earthquake is coming. The element of surprise is much scarier to me.

I agree with you Jen.

I've always said that at least we don't have earthquakes like they do out west. The element of surprise is too much for me.
It's funny to hear that you folks from out west feel the opposite!

I live in Destin, Florida on the panhandle. We lucked out here with Tropical Storm Faye. By the time it got to us, it had fizzled mostly out. We did get some rain. This Gustav is scary because he is taking the path of Hurricane Ivan and Katrina.

Good luck to us all on the Gulf Coast!!
