Hey everyone,

My name is Nick and I just joined this forum because I'm going to be getting a beagle puppy in 6 weeks! My girlfriend and I just put a reserve/deposit down on a 2 week old puppy. I'm so excited; I have no idea how I'm going to get passed the waiting game now! I've played with a couple young beagle puppies and they are so much fun. My girlfriend and I are both college students so we will have plenty of free time due to differing schedules. Someone will pretty much always be home to give the puppy attention. We have both previously owned dogs, but this will be the first puppy for either of us. Wish us luck!

We've came up with a few names, but are still undecided: (It's a boy)

Captain
Bailey
Motley

I also really like Banjo. Saying Banjo-the-Beagle has such a ring to it, lol. Not to mention I've also heard that some Beagles are known to sing along with you.

i really like the name Banjo! so cute. i'm naming mine snoopy - which i KNOW i KNOW is not really original in the slightest but i can't help... its just so fitting /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif snoopers!

Howdy, welcome to Beagle World. Once you get acquainted with the pup, you’ll know if any of those names are the right name for him but I agree with the rest, Banjo does should like a good name for a beagle.

Just a for instance...

When we got Murphy (an un-named, less than a year old, rescue), my wife was dead set on calling him Buddy. I said to wait and see what he was like. He was a handful. He was a chewer with seperation anxiety. We tried eveything we knew of to protect OUR stuff. He was definitely NOT a Buddy. My sister said, he is like Murphy's Law - Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Murphy became his name. He has lived up to it ever since.
