A million times I needed you,

If love alone could have saved you

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

This is a tribute in rememberence. I am not the author.

Reminds me of my two English Cocker angels. You have not felt sadness until you hold your best friend in your arms as they take their last breath. I was 3 when we got Buddy, and he died in my arms 15.5 years later. My sweet baby girl Daisy pined for him and died just a year later. I was at work, she grew distressed looking for me, and then passed in my dad's arms.
