They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Your poems are so good and so sad. I think its because we think of our past loved ones. You write so well.

This is a tribute in rememberence. I am not the author.
There are however some of my writings that I have posted in other sites that have been spread around the internet that are listed as "author unknown." And I prefer to leave it that way.

Reminds me of my two English Cocker angels. You have not felt sadness until you hold your best friend in your arms as they take their last breath. I was 3 when we got Buddy, and he died in my arms 15.5 years later. My sweet baby girl Daisy pined for him and died just a year later. I was at work, she grew distressed looking for me, and then passed in my dad's arms.
