We can all relate to your feelings but please don't panic. 99.9% of lumps are fatty deposits called "lipomas". They are only removed if they get in the way of something like a joint or if they are rubbed with a harness, etc. Hang in there and be sure to let us know how the vet appointment goes!
I have another beagle, Mickey who gets those fatty deposits but somehow this one feels different. It seems harder to me. I am thinking that maybe it is because she is much smaller and thinner than Mickey.
I love your quote at the end of your posts Judy. I copied it and sent it to several people. There is so much truth in that quote.
Lumps on our pups are awful. Mine have been through many and everyone I find is like seeing a Mack truck heading right for you. Does it move or does it seem attached? Has Gracie been spayed and is it near a nipple? I could relate all the tales in the world, but you are the one with Gracie in your lap and your heart in your throat. We will have fingers and paws crossed for you tomorrow and have bunches of prayers and positive thoughts headed your way.
AKA, "Fatty tumor"...Goober has a small one on the left side of his neck that I first discovered in 2002. It is barely the size of a "bb" & has not grown since & the vet told me to monitor it but that was over 5 yrs ago & Goober is nearly in the "home-stretch" of turning 16! Sure, he is the first of only 2 dogs that my family has ever owned when they were puppies! Our previous record with adopted beags was 13 yrs...but we had no idea as to their "true age"! I think the record for a beag is 24 yrs in Ohio, but Goober has a "good start" @ the record as he was born in Moscow, Idaho on 12 April 1992!
I wanted to let you know what the Vet had to day about Gracie's lump. It is right on her spay scar
and she said sometimes a stitch breaks underneath and can cause a lump to form. If that is the case then she said it will go away. We are taking a wait and see approach and go from there.
I don't know how long ago she was spayed as there are no papers so I am assuming it was awhile ago. He spay scar is hard to see. I am going to google this and see what I can find.
