When I get bored, I find myself on Petfinder. I don't really know why, but I've seen this little guy on there for the past 3 weeks. His picture calls to me for some reason, and I do like his name /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/tired.gif since I'm a fan of The Office.

My husband would kill me though because Daisy is more than a handful right now.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/PuppyEyes.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/winkingsmiley.gif Oh I do the same - there are a couple Beagle rescues in my area plus a couple all-breed rescues and our local humane society. Theree have been so many Beagles I would have loved to add to my family - have also thought about and come close to fostering but I really need to get into a different house first. I own the one I am in now and it does have a fenced bak yard but it is a duplex. I hate having neighbors on the other side of the wall - that's one reason I left apartment living. I am planning on moving hopefully in about 2-3 years - maybe then I can add a third.

I go on the Norcal Beagle Rescue all the time. Right now there is a gorgeous girl on there named Allie and she looks and sounds so much like Duke. My son is begging me to get her! Though with 3 dogs already, I don't think we could handle a 4th. But if we could............... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

I know what you mean. I found our new beagle at a rescue(not beagle based) listed on Petfinders. This group rescues primarily poms and small breeds. Right after I got Sam, the dog who is resisting house breaking or training, I started looking on the web. There are some cute ones there including older ones but none spoke to me as much as Sam did in a photo where he is biting another dog's tail. I watch to see how long it takes them to adopt these animals. If only we had a fenced in yard and I was home more during the day...

oh my, I just looked at Petfinder myself...and now I know that there are 3, yes 3 Beagles, at the little shelter that I drive by all the time. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/icon_exclaim.gif

Petfinder is sometimes a lifesaver, sometimes a heartbreaker. I rarely see any Beagle locally but there are so many I've seen and thought 'PERFECT!' For example there was one 'down the hill'- I think in Riverside? - called Nanna about 3 years old, perfect with kids and loved cats. Of course she's adopted now but I can't help feeling that she would have been perfect for us. Oh, well. There's a LOT at Beagles and Buddies, but again it's so far away! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Something else Petfinder does to me is make me want to go and adopt all those Labs and Lab crosses. I love Beagles so much now (though I've never had one), but I love Labs just as much, if not more. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

In the High Desert; about 20-30 miles from the Cajon Pass, between San Bernardino and Barstow.

El Monte is about 70 miles away from us, which is where Beagles and Buddies is. I STILL haven't asked my dad if he'd be willing to drive all that way for a dog. (a while ago he said point-blank he would not go outside the High Desert 'just to get a dog' /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif )

I need to tell him that when the time comes to get my beag, I'd be more than willing to pay for the gas money. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sign20.gif

Re: I don't know why I keep looking & looking & ..

I did it again. Not sure why but there she is. Right now she is listed as NO NAME. If I could I would hop in my car and she would be here in a couple of days - what's one more, I've only got two. She is sooooooooooo cute. Anyone near
