My family adopted Hunter a few months ago from a local rescue agency. He was pulled out a rural Virginia animal shelter after being found abandoned after hunting season ended. He has been a great addition to our family, and I'm looking forward to posting some pictures as soon as I can shrink them down.

Glad to have you into our little group here--- feel free to pitch in any thoughts on posts or ask questions, etc. Sometimes you can search into older posting areas and find some good information there too, since we have all came in and asked various questions too!

And Sandyj, I think Hunter is thankful too. When we first adopted him, he was very timid and anxious about even the smallest thing. We don't know anything about his past except he's probably 5 or 6 years old, and that he was tossed out by a hunter in rural Virginia. He was about 21 lbs. when we rescued him -- way too skinny for his body size.
However, 9 months later, he has quite a sense of...entitlement about him. And we love it. He's grown to about 32 lbs. (its possible he's a little on the plump side right now) and prances around like he owns the places.
A noisy BeagleWorld welcome to you and handsome Hunter! We have an abandoned hunting beagle rescue too - Popcorn (and two other rescues too). Like Hunter, she was a too-skinny 21 pounds when we adopted her, and now a too-pudgy 32 pounds! But unfortunately she hasn't come out of her shell in the way it sounds like Hunter has and is still terrified of most of the outside world - but she is making slow progress and we are proud of her whenever she does.
