Hi,
Our first Beagle (Murphy) is now almost 6 months old. He's active, bright, and full of energy.
For exercise and enjoyment we walk the local bike trails-a lot. Now that spring is finally here we walked 7 miles on Friday (split 4 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon), 4 miles on Saturday and 3 miles today. Murphy absolutely loves going on our walks.
My question is-how much is too much? Since he's a still a puppy I want to make sure we don't overdo it. Are there any long term joint/growth issues that our long walks might cause?
We do take water, take frequent breaks and vary our pace. He doesn't show any sign that the distance bothers him, but I'd still like to make certain that the amount of walking won't cause problems since he is still a puppy.
Thanks!
