Well I came home after my MD appt's this evening & notice something strange. There was a towel on the floor, and some bunched up napkins..then I walk over to Mizu's crate and its OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif
I call for Mizu and run upstairs. There he was just laying on the the top stairs. My boyfriend and I searched around the house to see what Mizu got into. My razor ( he must of jumped into the bathtub & lotion. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif I am super worried that he swallowed one blade because I only found one. If he did swallow one blade I would know right?!?!!? He is being himself.. very hyper.. I am worried about the lotion also but much more about the razor...What do I do??? Should we go to the ER? Like he says he seems perfectly fine at the moment..Please advise. I am very scared.

I believe they would be able to x-ray him to tell. Call the vet ASAP and ask!

I would call the vet ASAP - if he did swallow a blade, they should be able to see it in an x-ray - nothing to mess with. I agree with Jamie - but then I am a "worry wart". I'd rather make 10 unnecessary trips to the vet than one that I didn't make that was necessary.

I would be terrified as well, just in my nature.

It is reassuring that he is acting normal. I mean, would a dog really swallow a whole blade? Ok, don't answer that, but I would hope not. And if one did swallow a blade, I think the pain would be unbelievable right away, if not including vomitting up blood. So I really don't think he did.

But yeah, the other stuff he could have gotten....do you see any other signs of stuff? I would still call the vet.

I called the vet.. they asked if Mizu had a bowel mvt yet. I fed mizu his regular dinner and his poop was loose. I took him out a second town 1 hour later and he had another bowel mvt and it was shooting out. NO BLOOD.. I am monitoring him very close and will take him to the vet tomorrow AM. We are also crashing out in the living room just in case he needs to run out in the middle of the night... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

Hey everyone! Mizu made it through the night just fine. Slept normal. Fed him this morning and guess what I found in his poop?! The other blade along w/ other stuff he got into. No diarrhea or blood. I took the day off from work to watch him just incase.

Good intuition Mom!! Glad it went through him ok. Silly pup!

Our first Beagle ate one of my ear rings when he was a pup. I put them on the table by the bed and the next morning there was only 1 ear ring. Later he had stomach pain and diarrea. Hubbie took him to the vet. I told them I was sure he had eaten my ear ring. Hubbie said No, he couldn't have. They x-rayed him and sure enough, it was in his stomach. It passed through ok.

WOW, wow, wow! I can't not believe he pooped it out! Call the vet and ask if there is any danger of internal bleeding now that you know he did indeed injest it and it's out now.

She's not a Beagle, but my Cocker does stuff like this all the time. She has been known to eat glass and other things /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I always find them in her poo!

Hi BeagleBabe, I just got off the phone w/ the vet. They said to monitor him to see if there is any changes in his behaivor, if he vomits, is bloated, or won't eat. None of the above apply to Mizu, YET..I've been taking him out every few hours and he has had 2 bowel mvts this am (firm). So we will wait and see. The vet is open till 7 tonight so if there are any changes I will def go in. Also the vet said she'd be more concern about the plastic pieces instead of the blade. WEIRD!! I was like HUH??? really???
