It is very uncommon in Beagles. But our Sadie has it in one hip. She is 7 and just this year we found out. You all probably remember. She did something to tweak/hurt her right hip. She was limping around for over a week. We took her to the vet and they did x-rays and sure enough she had hip displasia in that hip. It is a heritary thing. Hers is not real bad. She had to take anti-inflammatory meds for about 2 weeks and that got her over the pain and limp. She has been fine since (knock on wood very loudly). She runs, plays and acts like a wild little Beagle most of the time and is just fine, thank heavens. also the vet had us start her on Glucosomine suppliments.
