Halloween costumes for your dog!

I know it is still early, but I am so excited. Is anyone dressing up their beagle or other dogs up for Halloween? I am dressing Lucky up as a skunk. There is a reason for this and not because he stinks. When he gets scared and freaks out, he has a streak of hair that runs along his back that stands up. I call him skunk when he does this. He will be so cute. I will definitely post pictures once the costume comes in the mail! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Here is a picture of the costume:

The new Drs. Foster and Smith catalog came last week, and it had lots of costumes for dogs. In fact, on the cover was a beagle dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz!!
Before I got a puppy, I thought that dressing dogs up was a crime against humanity. But then once I got Holly, I've been aching to dress her up! I have sucessfully restrained my urges (with the help of my husband), but I HAVE to dress her up for Halloween. My husband thinks I am losing my mind, but Holly is dressing up as her namesake for her first Halloween. She's got a little black cocktail dress and a string of pearls. If I could figure out a way to keep the glasses on her head, I'd do that too :raspberry: She's going to be the most fabulous girl on the block, lol!
:toofunny:

I once dressed up our chihuahua as Robin Hood. I made a little coat-thing out of felt and even a hat!

Wish I'd taken pictures!
At least, I am not alone! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I have not done it with the Beagles yet, but my Beagle/Lab mix has been decorated for Halloween before. My grandkids were dalmations so we made Sam be a reverse dalmation and he went with them to trick or treat. He was even given doggy treats at a few houses. It was really cute and has made a lasting impression on the grandchildren.

We actually just painted the white spots on him. He was so patient and let us do it. He didn't even try to lick it off or anything. I was shocked.

We have also used Sam as a model for a unique piece of jewelry my husband found one day on his trash route. I have such a tolerant dog. lol

I am dressing Buddy as Underdog!
I can barely get Marley to wear his little harness without attacking it.
I was thinking Underdog as well, but now I don't know. This is my favorite holiday so of course my baby and I are celebrating, I don't care if its embarassing for him. Most parents dress up their children in costumes and I feel this is the same thing.

My brother says Fin looks like a Bratwurst with little legs, so I was thinking of going with a sausage theme. I'll figure it out...
