I just do not know what to do about all this hair. It is everywhere. If you even look at Marley, he will get hair on you. I go to work with it all over me, I brush like crazy to get it off of me, my clothes, my hair.

1)I know beagles shed but this much?! I see pics of others here where they are on couches, chairs, etc, and I don't see all that hair

2)I want to be able to wear something again, like a jacket, without having to wash it everytime. Or take him for a ride without the car seats being completely white

3)he likes to cuddle but with so much hair, I cannot let him on me or the couch all the time

Help! I am realistic but this is crazy. If I run my fingers through his hair real quick, I pull out 100 hairs.

The new summer coats are in!!! lol... I wash all the dog beds and linens once a week, vacuum the furniture once a week, and vacuum the floor three times a week. I bought a small canister vacuum (shark), that really does a good job on dog hair.

Yep, here too!!! And I have allergies to pet dander!!

We bought the new Bissell Healthy Home vacuum and I about died with how much it picked up just out of the living room carpet!!! Blue has always covered our burgundy chairs, but now it is everywhere. We have been having him groomed twice a week, but he is still shedding. We bought a Kong Zoom brush and try to use it every other day and it seems to help a little bit.

Good Luck!!!

We own a rainbow vacuum and I will never go back to any other kind. This is the type that you fill the bottom pan with water and the water acts as the filter. Wet dust can't fly and neither can wet hair. It works so well.

Oh and another item I will never do without again is a microfiber couch and love seat. The hair doesn't go into the material. You just take a damp cloth and wipe it off.

I don't know if this is any help but I know Maggie sheds a ton right before summer and then stops shedding (mostly) during the summer and winter and then starts the whole thing over again. Good luck trying to get rid of it, I do my best and it's still everywhere!

Yep, it's sheddin' time!! Like Matthew, I vacuum the furniture once a week; the floor several times per week; shake out the bedding (outside of course) twice a week, and wash their bedding weekly. LOTS OF WORK!! However, it keeps the dust down on the furniture also.

My next thought: In an old thread, someone stated (was it Cheerio??) that dogs with a lot of white hair shed far more than those with dark hair. If you're finding mostly white hairs....I would say that observation is correct.

I've never used the furminator, but many members use it and love it. I saw the groomers at PetSmart using this brush,it's called a ZOOM GROOM so I bought it.....it works well for me
Good Luck.....loving our beags is work! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/soapbox.gif

Yes its shedding season. Jasmine (our tri-color) who I never see shed, got up from the floor the other day and a pile of hair was left behind. Now Maggie (our Lemon) sheds 365 days a year. I think it also the color difference and they have different coats.

OMG- I think the same thing when I see pictures of the dog sitting on the couch!! I actually look closely at the picture looking for pet hair!!

I sweep EVERY night. I swear last night I had enough hair to make another dog. I actually cringe when my husband runs his fingers through Miley's hair.

She is going to the groomers next weekend to have her second coat taken out, I can't stand the shedding anymore. She is not an outside dog so she doesn't need her second coat.
