We are going to San Diego for a short vacation, all 4 of us.
Because we are flying down, we can't take Charlie, beside there will be a lot of changes taking him. So he is going to a pet lodge. I have been sending him to a private home, but the care giver is on vacation, well of all places she is in an exotic Africa! And I'm going to wild animal park in San Diego only! First time going to this pet lodge, got some good references, I'm fine with it.

I have always told Toby that he is going to a Doggie Resort and Spa! LOL!!!

My two are also being boarded right now because we are leaving for Disney World tomorrow. Since we recently moved, they are at a new place. This is the first time Toby has had someone with him, though and I really think that will make the stay easier. I got them a run together, so that they would have each other and took their dog bed, too!!

Well.....pick Charlie up this morning at 10am, now is 4:00pm, he has been sleeping since then.

Stress?? Or too much excitment? I wish he can talk to me, at least tell me if he likes that place. It is OK to me, kind of dark, not enough sunlight in the kennel. Charlie did not want to stay in the stall. At least it is not a cage, I thought to myself. Verses the place where he use to go is a house with a huge back yard!
Should I go back to this place or the house?? Charlie speak to ME!

As long as he is feeling good and doesn't show any sign of stress.... I would assume it's okay!

Rhoda, when we go away, our dogs get to stay at home in their familiar surroundings, and our petsitter comes twice a day. They love her, and she loves them. However, when we get home, they sleep a lot for a day or so. I think that no matter where they are, they miss their mom and dad and, maybe, worry some.

He probably just missed you. He's just catching up on some lost zzzzz's now that you're home. Even when Jersey stays with my aunt (who she knows very well and loves Jersey to pieces!), she gets stressed. I'm sure Charlie will be just fine.

As for where to take him back to...go with your instincts. Which place did you feel more comfortable leaving Charlie at? I'd go there.
