Glover loves the vet, each time we walk past he just HAS to go and say hello, he gets so much attention and pets there so its no wonder lol.

anyway I took him to the vet as he has been getting sores on his belly...

its so funny, he has puppy acne LOL I had no idea theyd get that too! so hes got some cream to put on it now.

other vise he is a healthy little pup!

Hmmm, puppy acne, that's interesting. Now that I think of it, I think Chloe had like 2-3 sores, and I just ignored it 'cause I thought it's just little fats trying to break out. Ha, funny, that IS acne.... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/animal18.gif

Glad Glover is okay, and even more that he like the vet /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif .

I'm surprised the vet diagnosed canine acne as this is almost always localised on the chin, lips and cheeks of the dog and almost exclusively to the large breeds like boxers, dobermans, mastiffs and bulldogs. Does he rub his belly across the carpet? maybe this caused it.

Still, if the vet said that's what it is and the cream works then that's great.
I am glad Glover likes the vet. That makes your life easier. Simple solutions are nice. I'm glad the cream is working well.
That's great that Glover likes the vet. Daisy likes it too right now, and that is a refreshing change from my last dog who cried everytime we had to go
Now that Maggie is eating again, she has canine acne on her chin and, just as Jennifer mentioned, she gets it from rubbing her chin on the carpet after she eats. I try to get to her with a wet cloth before she rubs but, invariably, I am doing the dishes as she heads out of the kitchen. Instead of paying for meds from the vet, I wash her chin nightly with medicated soap, rinse it well and then put neosporin cream on it -- have to distract her after that so she doesn't rub that off!
diesel had the same thing. and it was when he was loosing his puppy fur and getting dog fur... so he scratched a lot too...

so i got some antibiotics and a antihistamine(sp?) for his itching. and it cleared up.... i wish i could say the same for diesel about the vet...

diesel is a big chicken about everything haha

Glover isn't allowed on the carpet but ( I dont know if this is a Beagle thing) he lyes flat on the grass or any surface and sort of drags him self and rubs his belly on it.

He has some grass alergies too and dry skin so I reckon all that didn't help either.
I just noticed some acne on Glovers chin this morning too, I have noticed him rubbing it lately and vola!

Awww bless him. Does it resemble acne in people? Spots that are filled with pus and can be squeezed and blackheads too?
lol yes it sort of looks like it but I wouldn't squeeze it... I don't think he'd like it much...

some of them are just scabs though.
O'h no i didn't mean you should squeeze them lol that would not be good and just make them sore. I just wanted to check that it was acne. Canine acne looks the same as people acne. My sisters dog ( a rottie) had acne on her face and it looked just like a teenagers skin. A bulldog at the training classes I used to go to had it on her chin too and it was the same.

I guess the scabbed ones are the one that are healing up.
Dont worry Jennifer, I wont come near them lol

lol, Im sorry, I just think its hillarious still... Things you learn..

oh yea, must be a beagle thing. Marley does it too, drags and drags. I think it's so funny. Sometimes cute, cause he is dragging to get to me. Other times, he is being the typical nut.
