Denise, I was so sorry to read about your sweet Olivia. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif Our seniors are so precious, and it's so hard when they start to decline. I, too, will add you to my prayers. Seems like the list is kind of long these days. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Denise, I'm getting tearry eyed reading your post. I totally understand the soulmate thing. Amber was special. She was my baby and I loved her to death. But Jersey, she's different. Something very special. The bond we have is totally different. Soulmate seems to be the best way to describe her.

I'm sorry that Olivia isn't well. Did your vet say how elevated her levels were? Amber's were off the charts high. We only got a few weeks from the sub-q fluids treatment. You're friend was lucky to get 10 months! Give Olivia some extra love from me and Jersey. I too, will be praying for you both.

Chloe is still very young, but I hope we will have this kind of connection between us. I somtimes feel she knows what's on my mind, when she just sits next to me.
I hope and pray Olivia will have an easier time dealing with this... and you too.

I didn't see yesterday's post, Denise, and I'm so sorry that the report wasn't better. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

No, we're never ready to let them go, but have to take comfort in all the joy they give us while we're together. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Denise, great news! I wish that I had known of cyprohexadrine when Amber was going through this. I hope that Olivia keeps it all down. I love the picture of her and Henry.

You're both in my thoughts and prayers. I know how hard this is for you and I can't even read the posts here without crying. It's all so familiar. You're a very good Honorary Beagle Mommy! Extra hugs to Olivia. And you too.

Denise -- what great news! You know I'll be writing that one down ... it's amazing how much better we feel when our pups take in some food. I think you're smart to hold back more until you see how Olivia handles what she ate already. Was back at the vet today as Maggie is having trouble keeping down what little food she eats. Lots of prayers heading your way!

I've written it down in hopes that I'll never need it, but it's good to know that there's something for loss of appetite.

I know you're so happy that Olivia has eaten, and I so hope she can keep the food down. Prayers continue to go up.

Denise, I'm so glad to hear that Olivia is keeping her food down. That's a great sign. You may also want to check and see if it's a drug that is available at a regular pharmacy. Amber's heart pills were $78 a month from the vet...only $18 at the Sam's Club pharmacy. Florida has a law where a vet has to write a prescription if the client asks for it (as long as it's something available at a regular pharmacy - did you know that Judy?). I don't know about Virginia, but you should check it out.
