So many of the BW members had words of support and kindness when I lost Ginger, and the poem Genie posted was much appreciated. I can picture Goober, Murphy, Ginger, and all the other BW loved ones in a grassy field running like mad!

I'm Still Here

Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

The Bagel and I are concerned about you and Homer the Huge. How is Homer doing without his mentor? How are you doing? When are you going to rescue another? How did you do hunting? Bagel and I still include you and Homer in our nightly prayers.

Thanks Bob! Homer & I are doing much better now, as our old
habits have changed! (I no longer have to look before I retract
my feet to the couch, as Goob's loved to lie between my feet &
the couch)! I did have to put Goobers leash away in my home
office though! Last sunday brought a tear to my eyes when I
prepared to take Homer next-door to play...& instintivly I
leaned to my left to hitch Goober! There is a lot of Goober
in Homer! But I will wait until next spring/ early summer to
get a beag puppy for him as he deserves to be top dawg
despite the fact that he is not a beagle! Goober was a major-
snuggler...But sadly, Homer is not!

I haven't been a regular lately, but wanted you to know that Goober's passing broke my heart and you remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope I'm as fortunate to enjoy my dog's company as long as you did Goober's, although it's NEVER long enough for us, is it? We're sending hugs to you and Homer (and pop) as you grieve your loss.

Thanks Debannib! It's been 2 weeks now since his time ran out,
& it's still hard to keep a dry eye! He was an ultimate timex-
beag as you may remember...when he had a stroke on xmas eve,
yet he recovered & lived 3 days short of 9 more months! No
matter how bad things/events in my life have turned... I have
been blessed with companion animals that have lived a long
(I just hope that they put a good word in for
me when my time runs out)!
