Sherry, Thank you very much for the prayer. Yesterday and today have been very hard, as I keep seeing things around the house that were uniquely hers. Chloe and Bailey are greiving with me as well. Saturday morning Bailey woke up and went around the house looking for her. When he couldn't find her, he came into the living room where I was and started howling like mad! Chloe has become attached to Ginger's old bed. From the day I took her off of the rope from that man's patio, she was just the sweetest dog anyone could hope for.

Denise, That was a happy day! A former roommate had Chloe and I took her in when he suddenly had to move back home. I was talking with a co-worker about Chloe and how it would be good to find another beagle to keep her company during the day. Turned out that his mother's neighbor had a beagle that he was trying to find a home for. When I called the man, all he said was her name is Ginger, come get her when you want! When I went to see her, she was very timid and was tied to this man's back patio with a fifteen foot cable, and her collar was imbedded into her fur. The only attention she had gotten was when she was fed. I went to get her the next day and took her straight to the vet. Much like Murphy, the vet questioned whether or not I really wanted her. She was heartworm positive and had a bad yeast infection. Two months later she was on the road to a clean bill of health. Ginger was a very affectionate, and very much a daddy's girl making it very hard to let her go.

Well the tears have stopped flowing, and have been replaced by memories of the happy times we spent together. She has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge where we will be re-united one day. I'm thankful that I was able to give Ginger the best years of her life.

Deb, Thank your for the kind words. I can't believe it was one week ago today that Ginger passed. It feels like a month and I still miss her very much. She is still with me, in my heart, as one of the poems posted says. Chloe also misses her, and has been bonding more with Bailey. There is a dog somewhere nearby in a high-kill shelter lying lonely at night that is in need of a miracle.

Ginger is back home. I still miss her very much. Coincedentally, as I came home from picking up her ashes, the letter carrier was delivering her urn. I am putting it on my nightstand so she can sleep with us as she did those four short years.
