Homer & Jethro have been enjoying slumgullion made with
elk meat trimmings for some time now, but I finally found a
source of canned mackarel! Homer knew what I was cooking,
but Jethro, (now 4 months & 3 days old) was mesmorized by
the cooking smells! I use a 15 ounce can of mac with a
pound of mixed vegetables & 3 or 4 ramen noodle packets
or the equivalent amount of any kind of pasta. I no
longer include the ramen spice packets as they are high in
salt! Jethro, like most beags was born with a prodigious
appetite & after a short sniff & a glance @ me snarfed
his fish slumgullion & puppy kibble down!

Some breeds can be fussy eaters...but with beags, the
list can be very short when it comes to foods they will not
eat! Heck, Nibbler ate a banana peel once when I was eating
one & he jumped up to steal it! Lettuce & alcohol seem to
be the only thing a beag will not eat or drink! Beagles are
the ulimate omnivours like humans even though many foods
are bad for them! (But this did not stop Snapper & Duke
from stealing our box tortoise's lettuce)! Now they were
a pair of chow-hounds!!!

I always pour the water out of our cans of tuna onto the dogs food before feeding them. They love it. But then I haven't found much that ours won't eat. I think celery is about the only thing they won't eat around here.

Shrimp is really cheap here in Houston, but Dixie hasn't eaten one.

I know Dixie will eat tomatoes, and just about anything we feed her when she does eat human food.

But when she is with me she only eat her dog food, while with her grandma she will eat all kind of human food.
