I was going to make some to put in my windows, but found these at PetSmart that are nicely done.

Great idea! I'm a concerned mommy when it comes to those kinds of things. I also had the bright idea a few weeks ago to make Henry an "emergency contact list". It basically has all sorts of info about him listed in very precise terms. His appearance, identification information, any medical conditions, home address and phone, vet's address and phone, directions to his vet, normal behavior, habits, microchipped, etc. It's about a page long and covers pretty much everything about him all in one place. I made 3 copies: 1 for his medical records here at home, 1 is in my dog owner's vet handbook, and 1 is on file at the vet's. Never hurts to be prepared.

I have decals on all sides of my house (next to front door, on sliders and on a couple of windows) announcing that I have a dog inside. I think I got them from Drs. Foster & Smith. I also have a wallet card (from ASPCA) that says "Important Notice: Please help my pet. I have pets in my home waiting for me. If for any reason I am unable to return home to care for my pets, please notify the following: (you can put in names/telephone numbers)." I had a big fear that I would be in a car accident and no one would know about Maggie ...
