The Day Care where I take Jersey had some copies of a new dog magazine out for us to take a few weeks ago. I don't know if it's new or just new to me. It's called The New Barker and the cover looks like the illustrations on the cover of The New Yorker. They were free for us this time, so I grabbed a copy. The cover???? A Beagle! It's a nice magazine. I haven't had the chance to read it all yet but so far I like it. Here is a picture of the cover.

They obviously put the Beagle to sell alot of mags. :biglaugh:

Joe, I looked up the publication info. It's local, done in Dunedin (by Clearwater). They have a website... www.thenewbarker.com . They also list an email address for subscriptions. It's [email protected] . It's $16 for a year with issues published quarterly. The cover artwork was done by Sonja Quillen and it's titled "Savanna the Beagle".

I guess, we know Beagles far too well to be offended by the portrait of a Beag on a magazine called the New Barker...LOL
The cover is not bad I must say. how was the content?

The content was good. It talked mostly about local Tampa Bay area stuff...dog friendly places to go, live, etc. I'll buy another copy.
