What kind of brush should I use on our six-month-old Beagle? If someone would post a photo of a brush, I would so appreciate it.

Thanks so much. I printed out a photo of the brush from WalMart and will ask my husband to see whether our local store has them in stock. Online was out of stock.

Hi -- this is a picture of the brush I always used with Maggie -- based on the curry brush used on horses. I actually got mine at a horse/riding supply store for a couple of dollars. It lasted for 12 years! The nice thing about it is that it kind of gives the pup a gentle massage as you are brushing. Super easy to clean -- just wash in soap and water.

I also use a rubber brush similar to Judy and Jen and really like it.

I use a rubber mit. One side is rough and the other side fine. I'll use the rough side occasionally while bathing him to work up a good lather and the fine afterwards to brush him out. They work great on short hair dogs like beagles.

I use a furminator. I bought it for my long haired cats but Maggie comes over for her turn every time she sees it out.
