well i'm pickin up my new family member in 12 days....
and i'm getting soooo nervous!
scared that i'll be a good mommy - as i never have been before...
do you think it's pretty normal to get cold feet before getting your first puppy???

i'm sooooo excited and looking forward to it and then it starts to feel all overwhelming and scary!
i like the quote i saw on someone's signature... somethin like "before u get a dog u can't imagine your life with one, after you get a dog you can't imagine your life without one"

You will be a wonderful dog mommy! The fact that you joined BW to try and find out about your pup says a lot -- just remember that we are here for you. I think you'll be so in love with your baby that you won't remember to be nervous.

it's only natural. You will be great! Maybe you will learn to do things differently or better as time goes along but you will be great! And guess what, puppies forget very quickly and love you nonetheless

Trust me, you'll be better than you think you are! My family always had pets growing up but they were never my responsibility. I got a beagle for my first pet that was fully mine and you can't help but love them so much and do everything and anything for them! I was so nervous before she came but ever since, we have been inseparable /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

well thanks for the encouragement everyone!
10 days to go! its getting close... i must be getting really nervous because i keep having dreams that when i go get her she is mean and horrible and attacks me :S ughhhhh. nice hey.

i spoke with a friend who suffered "post traumatic" stress disorder for awhile after she got her puppy - and knew someone else that actually had to go to counselling for this!??

never heard of this with dogs! interesting!!
