Hi, everyone! We suspect that we have a good number of BW members who read the messages regularly but who do not post very often. Maybe that is because their lives are too hectic or maybe they do not feel very comfortable about posting new topics or answers to other members' questions.

It is perfectly understandable and acceptable for folks to only post here once in a while but, when we do not hear from people, many of us find ourselves wondering what those folks have been up to recently and how their pack is doing.

Checking in is a topic that we start on the first of each month where BW members can post to let everyone else know how they are doing. You may just want to say Hi! We are still here and we are doing fine or you may want to tell us more...either way we would love to hear from you!

Okay, I wanna' know WHERE September went??!! The leaves are turning here, and the nights are chilly......

We're fine for the most part; Cal has been sick with anal glands and tonsillitis problems (did anyone here KNOW that tonsillitis is often a symptom of anal gland problems??) Anyway, having dealt with this problem for several years with Maggie, I will probably have Cal's glands removed sometime soon if this continues (he is relapsing this weekend, and not eating again)

I have wrapped up a class at the end of September, and am enjoying more free time. It's time to winterize the car and the house, and enjoy some beautiful fall weather...... so HAPPY AUTUMN to you and yours......I'll be in touch again.

That is sooo true -- where did September go?! We are doing pretty good here. Although Hubby is not happy right now. His electric wheelchair is in need of repairs. The right wheel isn't working and it causes him to go in erratic circles -- we laugh so hard, he wants to go to the left and the chair goes to the right. It won't go then suddenly it jerks forward.
Thank God we haven't killed anybody or ourselves. Did you know it takes a doctor's prescription to get the darn thing repaired. So we're waiting and waiting and waiting. So frustrating

Daisy is fine.
Now that it's getting cooler, especially later in the evening, she just lies in the grass or on the deck and doesn't want to go in. I've been working on getting her weight down and I think she may have lost a pound.

Hello to all new members!!
You will love it here!! Hello to all of you! Judy, happy to hear that Maggie is still Okay. Prayers go out to all of you who may need them.

Somehow I just have to make time to visit and post a lot more often

Love to you all and kisses from Daisy

Sadie and I are here. Although lately, I've only had enough time to just scan the posts. Life has been very hard the last 4 months and we've just been trying to keep from going under.

The good news....after 6 months away from us our Sadie is back home. The boys couldn't be happier and I dare say, Sadie feels the same way! It's good to have her home!

Helloooo BW!

Java turned the big 1 in late September and I'm starting to see that he gets it. Sure, he still loves to play when and if he's given the opportunity to, but he's also learned some boundaries. So far, he's been the perfect little guy!

Strongly considering expanding the pack, and after consulting with Java, he agrees. I now need to find that special somedoggy that will compliment the family and Java.

Welcome all new BW members and hope all is well!

Hello from Don, Ernie and Ruby -- and now Bailey! We were also thinking about expanding the pack. We're fostering Bailey, with the option to adopt, but haven't decided. But the yes side of the fence gets closer every day. I'll post more on him later.

For now, enjoy a pic of Ruby in her new Halloween collar and with her new Halloween toy -- which lasted a day.

Hello to All! Just joined BW this week and I already feel like part of the pack.

Regal is just over 4 months (photo's to come!) and simply the best. He's doing great with his basic commands of sit, stay, lie down, jump up, go to your blanket and we're making progress on drop it, leave it and find it. Luckily, he'll do anything for a treat - and belly rub!

We live in a wonderful neighborhood with many other dog owners and he is the most social and outgoing of them all. When walking, he sits straight up if he sees another dog or person - just waiting for them to come over and greet him. What an attention hog! My favorite part about our walks is when he finds his treat to jog home with - usually a stick or branch. Just tonight he had one that looked like antlers - what a site to see a 12 pound beagle trotting along with that hanging out of his mouth.

Looking forward to learning more about this fabulous breed and all of their antics and getting to know you all!

Things have been really busy at work and home lately, so not much time to post.

All is great with us and the pack.

Duke is a year and a half now and what a little man he has become! He is so much more mellow and obedient and has turned into such a good boy. We are so impressed with how far he has come from the crazy puppy we once had (and loved). And yes, there is still enough of his streak of mischief in him to keep us entertained. We'd miss it if he didn't occasionally give us that side of him.

We've had Violet for 3 months now, though it seems like she's always been with us. Her personality has really shown itself and she is such a friendly, sweet, cuddly little girl. She also has a silly side and so much energy! She is all beagle when it comes to her actions and we love to watch her and Duke play.

Our Cassie is getting up there in years and we are really seeing the toll the arthritis and displasia are taking on her body. She still wants to play with the beagles, but all she can really do is a few hops and then she hurts herself even more. We are carefully monitoring to make sure she's not in a lot of pain and she doens't seem to be, just much less active. We know winter will be hard this year and pray that we can get her through it.

Hi! It's been a while since I've been here. Me and Lazy and the rest of my critters are doing good. We had to evacuate for Hurricane Gustav last month but we did ok, no damage just a lot of branches around. Lazy enjoyed the trip to see her cousins.

Here is our Halloween picture this year.

Hi, Y'all.
We're keeping busy. Sadie and Sparky start obedience classes next Tuesday. (Karen went to the orientation on Tuesday, this week.) At 3 and 2 years old, it looks like they will be the senior members off the class.
That's ok. We don't think Sadie was ready for it when she went the first time.
Now that I think about it, seems to me that Beagles have a long puppy hood. (And puppy hood was a good time.
) ...Takes a couple years to develop all those smarts!

Myself and the 4 girls are just fine. Alaska is cold tonight. 12 degrees. I miss talking to you all, just stay busy like everyone else. Hope all have a great Haloween and Holidays. We have had one nice snow looking forward to our winter wonderland here.
Just got a new Mac and it is a joy! Just got through vacuuming TONS of beagle fur...boy, what a deal to keep up with!!! So worth it though. I am pretty much over the broken arm from last March. I DO wear the cleets on all my shoes now when I go out.
Heidi just got her teeth cleaned and a pretty big mole taken off the top of her head.
Didn't bother her, but she reminded me of the little old lady who has a huge mole on her face and thats all you can look a!! It was benign and all is well. Take care all of you, love, Thelma, Louise, Heidi and Natalie. Someday I'm gonna send px.

Hi! I'm a little late for the October check in but thought I should say hi as my Boomer is Mr. October in the 2008 calendar. We rescued a female beagle in March and life has just been really busy. I'm a teacher so I don't get on much during the school year. I'm trying though. Good to see so many adorable beagles here!
