Another adventure up the hill, Charlie sported a gopher in its hole. Of course he went berserk. Here came walking over a golden retriever, nice and friendly, tail wagging, smily and all. I thought saying hi won't hurt. WRONG! Charlie thought that goldie was here to take over his PREY! Let me tell you, I was sooo very embarass, Charlie lunged at the goldie with rage :angryfire: OK, time out, let's go home!

Well, it was his after all... Poor Charlie! Can't the Goldie takes the prey of a dog his own size?...

I remember my Nono running after a rabbit once and when she got him, the only one she ever manage to catch I believe, she looked at us, rabbit in her mouth, with those eyes saying "So now what?"
Meanwhile, the rabbit wiggled himself free, and Nono when back after him with no luck.
Nono had gotten him out of a hole, and every morning after that during that summer, she rushed back to the hole, barking and digging not understanding that no rabbit would appear...

They are possessive of their prey. About a year ago, Li'l Girl actually managed to catch a squirrel which she carried around the property. :animal18: Dusty had to get it from her, and dispose of it, because she thought Traveler was going to take it from her.
