At DrawtheDog.com, cartoonist Jim George just created a new series of breed-specific, color cartoon designs. So far, he has one each for Labs, Danes, Greyhounds and German Shepherds.

Now, Jim wants to create a Beagle design. He wants to capture the spirit and personality of Beagles, in the same way he did with these:

Lab: http://drawthedog.com/?p=280
Golden: http://drawthedog.com/?p=288
Dane: http://drawthedog.com/?p=271
GSD: http://drawthedog.com/?p=286

I'm co-founder of Draw the Dog, and we would really appreciate your ideas, stories and suggestions - so we can create an amazing Beagle color cartoon.

Okay, maybe someone will be kind enough to tell me what am I doing wrong? We've gotten some great ideas from, for example, Dane and Boxer forums. But no one seems to have answered my questions about Beagles. I'd really like to include them, especially because for many years I owned a dog who was - yes - a shepherd/beagle mix. Imagine a GSD in a Beagle pose, and you get the idea...

I will describe my beagle tucker for ya. anywho he is pretty fun loving, mischievous,he love... loves...loves food, infact anything that smells good he might try to eat. He loves to destuff all stuffed animals, he doesn't eat the stuffing, The stuffing is usually scattered about my apartment. He loves to sniff everything when he is outside.
If you have seen those sour patch kid comericials, with the sour patch kid doing something bad then it follows with doing something nice. That would sum a beagle up for ya, first there sour(does something bad) then their sweet ( will kiss/love you to death). Hope this helps!!

Beagles of course are unique. They are the howlers of the world. When one starts all other dogs will join in, they protect neighborhoods because they hear everything and start the alert signal. Beagles are unique because they will eat anything, food, socks, shoes, grass, plants, string, boxes, you name it they'll eat it. Beagles are the best smell dogs there are, at least to beagle owners....it doesn't take long to take them for a walk because they sniff their way through blocks and blocks in short time; unless there is a rabbit smell along the way. You can't look at a beagle without smiling they are the happiest little dogs in the world. They are loving, caring, happy, tail-wagging little creatures that just exist to love their owners.

Cobismom has it right. You can't look at a beagle without smiling and suddenly feeling like everything is right.Beagles have no hidden adjenda, they live to sniff and eat. And we wouldn't want it any other way. Leslie.

beagles are dogs that can be lap dogs one minute wanting cuddles and to sleep with you and then arooing and chasing a lovely smell at top speed outside. They are lovable playful sweet happy little hounds. One look at you with those big soulful goggly eyes and you can forgive them anything. They have such soft loving expressions and are so kind and sweet but boy they can be very michevious, Snoopy the cartoon character is a beagle!!!

I currently have a cocker spaniel but have owned beagles
