Tomorrow I am boarding Maggie overnight for the first time. I feel like I did when my daughter stayed away from home overnight the first time. She will be at my vet so I know she will be well cared for but I am still feeling a little guilty. My friend offered to keep Maggie but her yard isn't fenced and even though she would keep her on a leash when outside there is just too much potential for escape out of an open door. I have boarded cats or left them overnight at home but I don't think they miss us as much as Maggie will.

I know how you feel, I have put Snoopy in many many times. And he does fine (and he has huge seperation anxiety)

Make sure that you put in a clothing piece of yours so she can smell you.

Also, give lots of exercise tomorrow if you can. Does the bording place offer day care? If so, let her play all day and then she will be exhausted at night. When we have to put him in over night we let him go there during the day so he can run, play and wear himself out.

She will be fine...good luck

I'm sure everything will be fine. We used to take our family dog to the Dulles Gateway Kennels by the airport. It was the best place: a huge facility, daycare, daily grooming, classes, etc. They even gave him a report card, all A's might I add. We haven't had the opportunity to take Fin there but he will be going this summer when we go to my brother's wedding.
