Beagle quirks!!

I am sure this has been posted before but does your beagle have an quirks? Maggie always begs when I am eating something and if its hot and I blow on it, Maggie will lick the air like she can taste it!! Another thing, if she hears this one song, it's a rap song called the "whistle song" she goes crazy!! She starts turning her head sideways and starts howling immediately so if we ever want her to howl we just start whistling to the tune of that song and she just sings right along. I know this is kinda silly but I just love reading about beagles and their crazy personalities! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/tired.gif

My two mostly have up and down quarks. Oh, quirks? My girl Myra goes nuts around other dogs but is fine around people, and my boy Cello is fine around other dogs but goes nuts around people! Between them there is a good dog, i think /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/PuppyEyes.gif

Augie does the head tilt, too. If she hears a new sound or a loud sound she goes back and forth with the head tilt from side to side.

Miley shows her nylabone with her head and front paws on the floor but her butt straight up in the air!!! She puts her head on the side so her cheek is actually laying on the floor.

hard to explain but hysterical to see....

diesel will bark at anything hot. he loves to lay by our fire place and fall asleep. sometimes when he wakes up his body will be hot cause he has been lying there so long and he will bark at the fire place cause it is hot. haha

and one time i left a cup of hot coffee on the floor not even realizing what i had done. and when i did i turned around and diesel was already on it sniffing it. he took one sniff and decided its to hot and barked at it.

Buddy likes to rub his face on dryer sheets.....that is kinda quirky. I swear he is trying to freshen himself up.

Molly has to drag a toy into the kitchen whenever it's feeding time. She also has to have the co-pilot seat in the motor home when dad is driving.

Our new 7 month old puppy has a potty quirk...when he decides he is going to poop outside, he starts whinning and then walks sideways(not side to side) and then starts walking backward at the very end! So strange but at least I have some warning!!!

Another thing both beags do is they stretch their front paws from the couch to the floor and then slowly slide down to the floor, often remaining on the floor in a heap!!

What funny funny dogs!

Duke stashes all of his ill-gotten booty in the family room, in the middle of the floor. Everything he steals ends up there!

Also, every time we play fetch in the house, I throw it down the hallway and he comes running back into the family room, jumps over the side of the couch and then does this adorable little deer leap on the couch cushions. It's so cute!

Another thing is that he scratches the crud out of the carpet or the couch when he wants to lay down. He will circle and scratch for 2 minutes to find that perfect spot. Drives me crazy.

Marco will start grabbing every leaf all of a sudden so I'll go No! and he'll drop one as soon as i say it then grab another so I'll keep sayin No, he'll drop it again and another over and over. Also, when he's feeling real stubborn, I've seen it mostly when my mom is walking him and she calls him to go back in, he'll turn his back against her and just sit there like "try pulling me"/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thPhew.gif He'll also look at from the corner of his eye trying to be slick. hehe.

Everytime Boeing is towel dried after a bath, he'll go straight to his snack bowl, grab it with his mouth, and run around the room with his face half covered by the bowl. Silly beagle makes me laugh so hard everytime he does that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Maggie doesn't like smoke. Its so bad that if someone who smokes steps inside my house, she goes nuts barking, and backing away. When we were doing puppy classes at Petsmart a man walked past he training center and Maggie started to howl a real beagle howl. Everyone in class was laughing because she had never done that before. I couldn't figure out what was going on until my husband happened to walk past the same man out in the parking lot smoking while he waited for someone inside to shop.

This is definitely making me laugh and Maggie does some of those things too, like the stretching from the couch to the floor and she scratches the carpet, pillow, blanket, etc. and circles until she find the perfect spot. If Bones walks over to me and crawls up on me when I'm sitting on the floor or on a sofa, she will sometimes straddle my leg with her front feet on one side and back feet on the other, tummy resting on me. She will then stand at attention like that for a while watching whatever's happening around her (usually it's my boyfriend playing with Spock, but sometimes she just intently watches whatever's happening on TV, and sometimes, nothing at all is happening!).
