Hi, everyone. Our 3 year old beagle, Cooper is suffering from skin irritation really bad on his front legs, chest, feet and ears to the point were cutting himself when scratching. We've looked online and it's apparently summer allergies. We were wondering if anyone has any tips on how to ease it for him.

Thanks

Yes, beagles are notorious for allergies. Oliver's were getting so bad that he is on Apoquel which works like a charm. You can check with your vet but Benadryl or Zrytec can help. You try using a wet cloth or wipe to wipe down his legs and ears when he comes back in the house.

Grasses cause a lot of allergies..unfortunately not a lot you can do about avoiding that. I get my dog a Cytopoint injection every few months which calms the scratching. A round of Prednisone msy calm the allergies too.
