Hi forum.

I am really worried for my boy Fudge. Hes an 11yr old beagle and it looks as thou his 3rd eyelid is showing. Doesn't seem to be causing any distress however he won't leave my side. Usually hes doing his this every morning. Not sure the pic does it justice.

I am genuinely worried.

Just looking for some advice.

Google didnt help and in honesty made me worry even more.

Do I take to the vet ASAP...??

For me, eyes are always a 'go to the vet ASAP' thing. Both from a pain and what could happen if left untreated perspective.

I'd say get Fudge to a vet - but please, let us know how he does.

His eye today is back to normal.

He didnt show any discomfort which was odd for me, as he when is hurt always physically displays it.

I am going to see how he is and then re assess...

I couldn't tell.from the picture but was there a swollen red area in the corner? If so its called "cherry" eye. There are youtube videos on how to gently massage the closed eye..

Anyway sounds like its better..

Oliver is 12 years old and he has runny, leaking old man eyes. Cherry eye is common in beagles too but it looks like a little cherry poking out of the corner of the eye. You can do a Google search to see pictures.
