Hey guys, I was wondering do any of you have a quiet beagle? My Dodger hardly ever barks I’v Never heard him howl or bay... people who own beagles say that’s unusual, don’t get me wrong he does bark when I leave he goes nuts with the barking till I’ve been gone for a few, but only other times he barks is when something frightens him or spooks him, but he’s really a quiet dog, isn’t this weird for beagles, he can be a whiner, but I am braking that habit, he’s not for want he was house broke like at 5 months only bad habit is poop eating and leash pulling, but he’s a good pup, but no barking, Thanks for any info on this

Xerxes bays at noises outside our unit - but is good (usually) about knocking it off. There's a beagle down the hall that is pretty quiet too. We're pretty lucky. Though, I mean, if we're vacuuming, it's three dogs vs. the vacuum.

Mine doesnt really bark unless he is mad at me. But he does whine. Omg he‘s such a whiner. I get very little barking, baying, or howling from him but he is super okay with whining for 3 hours at a time when there is no reason to do so.

My first beagle Benny didn't bark until he was about 6 months old. My two current beagles don't howl much, Molly can be a yapper and whiney, Oliver barks LOUD but no howling.

I guess I am blessed that i don’t have a loud hound i’ve been reading and they say it could be he has no reason to bark he’s just content, and then I saw an article where a women’s beagle didn’t bark till it was 2 Dodger will be a year February 7th, have a whole year to see if he ever bays or howls...lol I saw too trainers say socializing dogs helps them speak too, so maybe that’s why he doesn’t bark? the whining, I cured that, I nipped that in the bud before it got out of hand. It was unorthodox how i cured that whining, but Dodger’s needs are met better now we see eye to eye without the whining now 😃😁💋🐶🍖Thanks You Guys Your GRRRRRRR rateeeeeee.....lol

You know, it’s funny you say this. As I said, mine doesn’t bark or howl, but whines a lot. I have noticed that the only time he DOES bark is when I’m preparing his morning bowl of food. As we all know, beagles would eat all day long if we let them. But he really loves his morning meal, and hates waiting for it. Ha!
