Jersey has been in a mood today! She's been acting like she's starving all day, even though she ate twice and had a bunch of treats. She ate/chewed up the following: my sandle, the mail I was getting ready to send out, a pen, DVD's (they were blank ones), a potholder, she got into the garbage at some point and ate some dirt out of my flowers on the balcony, then came inside and threw it up on the rug. I didn't see it and stepped in it. :pukey: She's just been a total goof! I'm hoping it's the change in weather. It's nice and cool right now. I'm on vacation this week...I hope this isn't what I have to deal with all week. :smack:

Sorry for the rough start to a vacation week! I do believe that our beagles, just like us, have mood changes. We, fortunately, can let out a scream -- our babes have to find other outlets, some better choices than others. Enjoy your week -- if you are down this way, let me know and we can hook up to pass on the PPA bottle. Would love for you to come by and see Maggie in her home environment!

Yikes, sounds like a plot for a beagle sitcom! She is one busy girl, that's for sure. Hope the rest of your vacation is a little more peaceful. :freak:

Sounds like Jersey was having a big attack of the naughties.

Sounds normal to me, ours can go for days being good then we have a few days of extreme naughties, running off with things, chewing, scavenging, excessive barking and answering back!!

Normaly beagly behaviour me thinks....

I can never get over how fun Beagles can make their life!...
BTW, sorry, I have no sympathy about your flowers. At least you have some, and in January... Well, maybe I do too, deep deep down under our 2' of snow (Too cold to check)

Well today hasn't been better. Last night she peed on the sofa. She was bunching her blanket up under her and instead of laying in her nest, she peed on it. So far today she's chewed another slipper, dragged a shoe under the bed (I got it before any damage was done), got into the trash again and then escaped outside while I was taking out the trash. After that, we headed to the dog park for two hours to get rid of some of this pent up energy. She hasn't been like this in months! I guess this is what I get for saying that I missed having a puppy around. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Jen, sorry for you. There's a couple of reasons for this though. First she is used to going to Doggie Day Care and being on her own with other dogs without you and second is the barametric pressure with our cold front. Cecil and Brandy were really weird on Thursday when they got home from doggie day care at the vets. They were angry with one another. I figure something happened between them. One of the gals called (they call the next day after having them there whether or not it's day care or boarding} anyway she wanted to know how they were. I told her that Brandy was being very alpha and Cecil was jut plain being a little bitch. I asked if anything different went on at day care and they said no that the girls were their usual good girls. They love having them there and get played with a lot. Now they are over that, but this weather has generated a lot of changes in nature and all the cretters that roam at night, bunnies, armadalos, racoons, lizzards, possums and so on. We tend to get a lot of scenting on our morning and evening walks. Cecil has gone into tracking mode twice with high pitched yelping and smelling like a horse/pig routing combination. We allow that in our yard, but they cannot do that on the walks. Lots of stopping to walk "nice" not pull situations. Barking in the playpen at squirrels and a bunny if he hops by during the day as we have one that does. Beagles are very into thier born instincts as this type of weather is hunting time. It's nice to have our beagle friends who value our surroundings and get such joy and pleasure out of each day. I bet Jersey was having the time of her life. You might need a vacation break one day and let her do doggie day care. Just a thought.

Jersey's been much better today. No crazy girl! I definitely think it was because she hadn't been to day care. That's why I took her to the park to get that energy out. Walks just don't do it for her anymore! I'll be taking her to day care tomorrow. I want to go out to the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa to take some pictures. It's a refuge for big cats like panthers, cougars, and even lions and tigers. I'm really looking forward to it!
