Well, we are back home again, a week earlier than planned. Our trip took us to southern France and Italy. Susi and Snoopy were only partly to blame for our early retreat. The very first night we decided to sleep down below with the hounds, as it was so cold. We awoke to find Susi being sick all over the bed, she managed to dirty every sheet. So we were reduced to duvets without covers, but we could at least sleep up top to avoid the duvets being soiled as well!! During the next two days both hounds peed and pooed in the van, resulting in no clean sheets for their beds and us having to throw the carpet out. It was upset stomachs that caused it and the rest of the trip was incident free. However, we had a car full of dirty washing and, although warmish and sunny during the day, it was impossible to wash and dry the sheets. We bought some new covers for our duvets and fot the dogs, but the main problem was our gas ran out. Still we enjoyed the break and Susi and Snoopy seemed to find it fun- particularly getting Dave up early every morning for a walk before he could even wash. We were determined to have no more accidents.
A few photos. The hounds in their travelling cage- for safety, which we folded up and put away when stationary. Them on the beach in southern France and happy to be home again.
Let us wish you all a very happy, healthy new year.

The px are great!! We, too have a travel trailer & our girls lived in it with Bill after Katrina. They automatically think any motorhome or trailer is theirs to hop into!! I think it's great you have a kennel for them while traveling. We do too, after losing our girls in an accident for 3 days. Your babies are so cute with their heads on the pillows! Comfort babies, so are my girls, especially Thelma. Glad you had a safe trip. sorry to hear about the GI problems, did they eat something new? Oh well, that's how it is with "children"!!! Gotta love 'em!

Its raining here today. This time last year we had suffered two months of snow. None this winter yet.

Snoopy licking Susi dry. On holiday, when Susi was ill, Dave took her on her own for a walk. Snoopy was devastated and howled like mad and cuddled up to me. When Susi came back in to the car, he licked her all over. It made me realise just how fond of her he is. I am already dreading the day when one of them dies, as they are so dependant on one another.

Welcome home!

Reading about their pooing and peeing in the camper then Susi throwing up and Mom and DAd having to sleep in the upper bunks. :biglaugh:

Then there they are standing on the beach in the south of France, looking so exotic and well rested! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Sorry that your trip was cut short but happy to have you back here with us! Sounds like you had an interesting time. Poor babies and their upset tumies. Jersey wasn't feeling well just after Christmas, so I know the feeling! Just think of all the good stories you'll be able to tell. :biglaugh: I do love the beach picture. They look very happy! They sure do have it good with you guys.

Great pictures!!

The beach looks soo beautiful, and the pups just add to it all.

The one with them both on pillows reminds me of how I feel when I get home from a vacation -- usually need a vacation from the vacation :biglaugh:

Glad their tummies are better /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Happy New Year!

Glad you liked the pictures.
ViliDobreva, welcome to BW. Susi and Snoopy are probably related, more likely to be brother and sister as they are only 6 months apart in age. Susi will be 7 in October and Snoopy 6 in April. Both are ex research beagles, who were bought free by a rescue centre here in Bavaria. They had spent their first years in hell, particularly Susi. We adopted them a year ago and it will probably take another year or longer before they are 'normal' We have met one of Susis sisters, also rescued by a vet in Munich and seen a photo of Snoopys brother, still behind bars. His name is Feivel and looks just like Snoopy. They are trying to get him freed.
Our two are fit again and were a few days into the holiday. We think they ate something here the day we set off, as our neighbours dog was also sick, he thinks poisened rodents had died in the woods outside our house and the dogs had eaten them. But we wont know. Beagles tend to eat anything and everything and upset tummies are almost routine.

Great photos, as usual. Sounds like you had a great holiday, even with the upset tummies. I spent the New Year (yes, midnight) out in the yard with a sick Kip. Don't know what or why. Glad you're back safe and sound.
