That is so terribly sad. 22 helpless animals taken before their time. Ashame...

I also really feel bad for the owner. His life's work was taken away from him. Poor guy doesn't even have insurance on top of it. Ugh.

I can't even begin to imagine how horrible it must have been. I've never met the kennel owner but apparently hes a friend to all types of beagle owners and is big with the field trialing community. I occasionally pass thru that area and if i go anytime soon i'll make sure i stop by to offer my sympathy. My prayers are with him.

OMG, couldnt bring myself to read it...this is my WORST fear ever to have a fire in my house and my dogs get hurt...I seriously want to install some type of sprinklers in my house when we get on...does anyone know of how to do this?

I thought about doing the same thing, but was quoted over $10,000 for a sprinker system! A much less expensive option is to install a monitored alarm system with smoke detectors. I also put the pet rescue decals on my front and back doors.

I'm very saddened by those dogs' lives lost.
