A couple of weeks ago I took the dogs for their first day at doggie daycare. They both really enjoyed it. So I brought them back today, and I can't stop thinking about them! I'm sure they're doing fine and having lots of fun, probably better than sitting at home alone all day. But everytime my phone rings I wonder if it's the ranch calling about the dogs. Yes, I'm a wee bit crazy. I know Caesar likes it because I dropped his leash as we were walking up to the building and he ran to the door and waited for me to open it! He's a little chunky monkey too so I'm hoping that he'll lose some weight with all the running around he's doing there. I can't wait to pick them up.

Hi!!! Just wanted to let you know that I work at a doggie daycare and usually they are always fine and having alot of fun. I always feel bad for the parents on the first day. Even if the dog comes in being shy at first, they warm up right away. They will get used to it. They will also be tired!!! Good luck! Let me know how they do!!!

I feel like my home is a doggie daycare - lol. Between 4 of my own and the visiting neighbor dogs, the females dropped off for our stud, and the occasional pet sitting that I do...we always have way more fun than one person and a bunch of 4 legged critters should have.

I'm sure your babies are having as much fun as they did a couple of weeks ago. Try not to worry.

I don't think that Ben really enjoys doggie daycare. We have taken him several times, sometimes just for the day and once overnight.

He always tries to pull away from the door when we go!

He is kind of an unsocial pooch though. At the dog park he spends 90% of his time by himself, just walking around and sniffing stuff.

I know exactly how you feel. Before we moved, we had a place that had a doggie cam and you could watch them. That first day, I spent the WHOLE day watching Toby on the doggie cam!!

I bet they are having a blast!!

I had to drop Oreo off at a boarding kennel the night before taking a trip to Canada. When I got home, the house felt so empty!

It didn't get any easier the 2nd time I had to leave him at the kennel but he worked up such a storm playing while I was gone that when we got home, he promptly fell asleep!

I've been there! Jersey has been going to doggie daycare for about two and a half years now. The first few weeks I was always worried that something bad was going to happen to her. I'm pretty sure that the adjustment was harder for me than it was for her. After about two weeks I dropped Jersey off and she didn't look back at me when I left. She just trotted down the hall to the play room. I teared up a little, but I knew that it meant Jersey was comfortable there and enjoying herself. Now she gets so excited when I drop her off and runs into the building when we get there. Sometimes she charges over me to get out of the car if I'm not fast enough. There have been a couple of times when Jersey has come home with some scratches and one time she had a pretty good puncture wound on her shoulder (which we didn't even notice until it scabbed over), but never have we had any major issues.

I had two very tired dogs yesterday. Which was good because I was too tired to take them out. I always know when Caesar is in a deep sleep because he snores - Loud! I think I'll take them to daycare once a week. It's good exercise and socialization.

You know how we talk about our pups being children....well what parent who drops their children off at day care doesn't wonder the same thing? Are they getting along, are they behaving themselves, do they miss me, am I doing the right thing. Usually the kids do just fine, and don't spend a moment thinking about us, because they are having too much fun. I am sure if your daycare is as good as ours, they will let you know if there is a problem.

I used to take Sadie and Pooh Bear to dog day care when they were young. I thought about them all day and would sometimes call the day care and check on them. They didn't mind me calling, they thought it was cute. Ours always had a great time and came home exhausted. Which was a nice thing for me and hubbie. Young Beagles can certainly be a handful when they are young.

Wish we had daycare here! It would be interesting to see if Susi and Snoopy would get on with other dogs. They dont when out walking on the lead, but its not the same as playing in an enclosed area.

For some reason Jersey has been barking a LOT at day care lately. The last two Friday's when I picked her up she's been barking her head off. Today I could hear her when I got there and she sounded hoarse (I know my girls bark anywhere!). The girl said she'd been doing it for about an hour. No wonder why it sounded like she was losing her Beagle voice. I wonder what's up with her lately?
