Cobi is 9 years old,has arthritis in his back legs, and is walking stiffly these early mornings since it turned cold in SD. Called the vet tech today, and she said to give him 325 mg adult aspirin once a day. Does that sound right?

Usually we start out with DMSO, but, no one has seen him yet, and we're hesitant to give aspirin that large to him...without a vet's opinion. What do you usually do with your older dogs who have arthritis? Just wonderin' before I call for the appt. Maybe I am totally off base and the recommendations are right.

That does sound like a lot. We used to use Derrmax for arthritus but it is a little expensive and you do need a prescription. You could give him less at first until you can consult the vet.
