this morning my sweety dropped a piece of apple on the floor, and sophie scarfed it up like it was the only thing she ever ate in her life.

it was either a gala or a fuji, i don't know which, but after we saw that we gave her another pice just for a test, and she wolfed that down too. ever heard of such a thing?

Apple (in moderation) will NOT hurt the dogs - my dogs all love apples, or any other fruit for that matter. Just make sure they don't get the seeds, because they can cause problems. Most of us who either do raw feed or have raw fed in the past, give fruit our our dogs. I don't give them a LOT of fruit - because it could cause poops - which is not a good thing. All of my ten beagles love fruit and vegetables. They don't especially care for oranges - tho Lottie will eat them - the others won't touch oranges which is about the ONLY thing they won't eat. Lottie will eat anything that doesn't eat her first.
Krisby it is my understanding that apple seeds can be poisonous to dogs - I think I'd eliminate them from the dog's diet.

Haha, we've tried giving Squeegee fruit a couple times. He never seems quite sure what one does with a piece of fruit. He'll pick it up and then spit it out and repeat. Then he'll hop around it and aroooooooo! Then he bats it around with his paws. Eventually he either eats it or gives up. Haha, silly beags.

All you can eat apples!
I have a Granny Smith I think, every year I harvest a lot of apples. A lot I donate to food bank.
Charlie likes to eat them when they fall of the tree. He plays it like playing ball.

Daisy and Rocky both love apples and pears. And when we visit my parents, they have a tangelo (orange/tangerine) tree and Daisy goes nuts over chewing on the fleshy part of the ones that fall from the tree. LOL The only fruit we won't give them is grapes. From what I understand grapes are very bad for them.

Apples are a good healthy snack for the boys. We keep Gala's around at all times. Mostly because my favorite snack is apples and crunchy peanut butter - yumm-ay.

I havent found anything that Zelda won't eat.

The only time she was a bit cautious about something was when I gave her a piece of brocolli. She eventually ate it though.
