After Franny died we decided to wait awhile before we got another beagle. But Molly took the death really hard, and went into deep depression. It completely changed her personality. About six weeks after Franny's death we decided to get another dog for Molly. We weren't exactly ready, but it was hard to watch Molly change like she did.

So off we went to meet a lady from the Georgia Humane Society. She had a beagle mix available with an amazing personality. After hearing her story, we had to see her. She was taken to the pound after she was found running down the road with her two puppies. Soon after that a hunter came and took all three of them from the pound and threw them into the back of his truck on a cold, rainy day in February. Three days later he brought them back saying that something was wrong with them. Of course being in the back of a pickup truck in February made them sick. They had kennel cough so bad they were on the verge of death, and were quarantined at the pound. When the Georgia Humane Society came to rescue some dogs the lady asked who was in the quarantine room. The pound worker said "you don't want those dogs, they're so sick they're probably not going to make it". The GHS lady insisted, and as soon as she saw the sick dogs she knew she had to save them. So she scooped them up, and over the course of the next few months nursed them back to health.

She's an amazing dog. Her and Molly became instant best friends. It's fascinating to see how Molly has become Franny, and Daisy has become Molly (so to speak). Molly is now the older, wiser teacher, and Daisy the energetic upstart. They are a sight to see, and love to play.

So, here is Daisy Mae!

Best friends forever!

I'd say Daisy has some big paws to fill but it sounds like Molly has taken that job and Daisy has to become the new "Molly" of the pack. I just love a happy ending and I'm sure Daisy will reward you with unconditional love for taking her in. Bagel sends a big welcome arroooo to Daisy

Daisy looks so happy in those pictures. She and Molly look the like lifelong buddies.

Bagel and I are so glad there is room in your heart for another deserving beagle.

What a wonderful outcome for a former "throwaway" beagle. Daisy's a beauty, and she and Molly look so happy together. Thank you for giving another beagle a new life, and a loving home. She is, indeed, a lucky dog, and I know she'll bring joy to you.

What a happy series of events after such a sad beginning to the year - I really think Daisy needed you just as much as you (and especially Molly) needed her. The picture of the two new best friends curled up together is especially heart-warming.

I know that Franny is smiling down on all of this - and perhaps she even had a paw in setting it all in motion...? I don't know - but I like to think it is possible!

I'm such a sucker for happy endings......er....I mean Happy BEGINNINGS! (please hand me the kleenex, sniff)

I've been wondering how you all were doing since Franny went to the bridge; now I see ! I couldn't be happier for all of you.

Your picture caption "goofball" says it all; That's one of my nicknames for our Maggie.....and it captures her personality perfectly.

Welcome Daisy Mae :bounce:

She is beautiful! And so blessed to be in a loving home!

If the *normal* person loved their doggie babies 1/100 as much as we love our Beags, there would be no need for shelters.

Ok, I have to stop reading these boards before work. I just put makeup on and now I am crying again. I pleased that this little girl has a loving home and hope she will help to mend your hearts.

That story made me feel as though I had been kicked in the stomach.

Then the picture of the two girls curled up in the chair melted my heart.

Congratulations on your new family memeber. They are both beautiful.
