This evening, I sat down on the couch to eat my supper and watch a little TV. Karen was seated at the other end.
I set my salad on the end table and my plate in my lap. As I was settling in, I saw Sadie out of the corner of my eye, going for my salad. As I reached for my salad bowl, I accidentally flipped my fork off of my plate and into my lap.
Sadie jumped up and I let her clean up the little bit of food that went flying with the fork. (As if I could stop her.) Then I made her lie down next to me, so I could eat.
This lasted all of about two seconds. Then she jumped down and started digging at the floor, in front of the couch.
Karen got up to sweep her hand under the couch to see what Sadie was after. As she did this, she knocked her own drink off of her end table and it poured down into the couch, between the cushions.
In the process of cleaning everything up, we pulled the couch out away from the wall, and there it was… One, tiny, little, itty, bitty black bean.

Sadie gobbled it down.

I can’t wait until our new, number-two-hound is finished doing her duty as a mother, and can come join the madness!
Karen says she can wait… I don’t get it.

(That's Ok... We've been visiting Bebe every weekend, and I can tell... her and Karen are really hitting it off.)

Re: (All for a bean...

All I can say is sounds just like a beagle! I almost don't need to sweep or mop my kitchen floor...

Josie does this EVERY DAY. I get on the floor with a little flashlight and see nothing. She doesn't stop. I move the couch, she finds a piece of a toy no bigger than a pea.

Rosa goes mad if I drop anything and she can't find it. Also if I drop something then pick it up she is convinced I haven't and will search for ages for something that is no longer there...doh.
