Kayla and I are thinking about trying to get Leo involved in some dog shows. Does anyone have any experience showing beagles? We are going to to enroll ourselves in Puppy Kindergarten and start obedience training soon after. We would just like to know what to look for in showing Leo.Leo will always be best in show for us!

The best place to start is to ask your breeder. Have you asked them about tips or what they do when preparing their dogs to show? It's good to have a mentor who can show you what to do.

What sort of papers do you have for him? Here in Australia, you must have main register pedigree papers to show your dog.

We also have show training classes here, so I would contact the AKC and ask if they know of any in your area.

Ian and Kayla - I can suggest contacting a friend of mine that has at least a small amount of experience showing their dog, but it is through the UKC and not the AKC shows. I don't know how much difference there would be. She is one of my facebook friends and she lives in Syracuse Utah so she is even used to our local activities. I will send a friend suggestion through to you. Her name is Michelle T. My best suggestion to you however, would be to get involved with local Beagle clubs/organizations. I would imagine that their would be more experience through them.
