I am going to meet a 10yo beagle girl next week (will be taking my 2 1/2yo labX with me, do you think they could be happy together with such an age difference?)The owner wants to get rid of her as his Father died and no-one in the family can/wants to keep her and I am concerned as she will be pts if she goes to local kill shelter:( Apparently in excellent health and UTD (I will of course verify with their vet). One of my dogs went to the Bridge earlier this month after a long illness, trouble is I am sort of broke as she cost me thousands in specialists/ER fees (worth every penny). Would it be wrong to take on a dog with the idea that IF something medically happened that required specialists etc that I wouldn't be able to spend what I just did on my last dog as my savings are depleted? Of course I will still give adequate veterinary care and I only feed top quality (actually I feed the raw diet). Thanks for any input, if she and my dog do ok I would like to help her. anne h
