Shasta will do the same thing with my husband to get a petting. She backs in to where his hand is and then moves just a bit until he unconsciously pets her. If she wants a different area, she just moves so the hand falls there. He does not even know he is doing it. I look at her and say Shasta, and she gives me an innocent What? look.
