Default For all of us who have sent our babies on

It has been almost a year since we sent Chipper our first bagelboy (basset/beagle) over the Rainbow Bridge. His ashes sit on my piano still in the velvet bag, inside the urn that I was given at the funeral home. Not one of the humans in our house can open the bag, or the urn to take it out. Even mentioning his name brings tears to my husband's eyes, a choke in the throat of our boys (who are 21 and 26) and a deep sadness to my heart. Yet we know that he is better where he is at. Chipper had stomach cancer, fought a hard battle, and taught us about patience, love, caring and letting go --- We all love our furbabies so much, they give us so much more than we can ever give them back...and the last gift of love we give is to let them go. They will never be totally gone from us, they will live in our hearts and souls...and even with a new beagleboy in the house, Chipper lives in the corners watching what is happening. At times we will swear that his angel is in Casie because Casie does things only Chipper did. We love them while they are here and when they are gone. We remember the comfort and giggles they gave us in their short lives. Until we meet again....

Agree. Murphy's ashes sit in a carved wooden box on the corner cabinet with his collar. We swear he left a Mischief Manual somewhere in the house, because Kali does things only Murphy did.

Ginger had this white hourglass-shaped spot on her back over her hips. Gabby has a spot on the back of her neck that is almost identical. When I look at the spot on Gabby I like to think that is the part of Ginger that is still with me.

It's been almost a year since we lost our wonderful lab, Roscoe. His ashes sit in the urn on my labrador shelf. He is still in our hearts and his mentoring of Duke for the 10 months they had together shows. When we lost Roscoe, we told Duke he was the man now and he stepped up. We see so many of the traits Roscoe taught him and that part of Roscoe lives with us.

Hi Cathy, it's almost been a year since I had to put my Marco down, I remember corresponding w/ you with a very heavy broken heart, I'm sorry sweetie, I know for me time passes and it makes it better but I always think of my little one and will never forget him.

My two childhood cocker spaniels died within 13 months of each other, and nothing has ever broken my heart like holding my dogs in my arms and watching them slip away. Thank God for my Henry.
