Default My Precious Molly

Molly passed over the bridge on Jan. 20th. of this year. She was only three years old, and the absolute love of our lives. It's only been recently that I've been able to talk about her without breaking down in hysterical tears.

She passed on a Sunday afternoon, after following my son's dog out the backyard gate as my husband was taking the trash out to the curb for Monday morning pick-up. Molly never tried to leave the backyard on her own, but my son's dog was a recent rescue and didn't have any training, so he ran out at the first sight of an opening.

My son's dog immediately ran up the street, with Molly in hot pursuit. My husband almost had Molly by the collar at one point, but she took off again as my son's dog crossed the main highway.

As fate would have it, a big SUV was speeding down the street just as Molly crossed. It happened fast, and my husband was witness to it all. Fortunately, Molly didn't suffer, as she died immediately.

It has been very hard on the entire family, as Molly WAS family, in every respect. I never would have thought that we would get another beagle so quickly, but a week without our precious Molly was all we could take, so we rang the breeder where we obtained Molly and immediately picked out Maggie.

Although one dog can never replace another, Maggie has wormed her way into our hearts and helped fill the void that was left with Molly's passing. I wish I had found this site when Molly was alive, so I could have shared her with you all. She was without a doubt, a special, SPECIAL little girl.

Below are a couple pictures of her taken several months before her passing. If one could only turn back the hands of time...

Praying my beloved FOX passed away basically in my lap Mar 16 at 3:45 am . Still in mourning over FOX but I love my Foxy-Daisy helping me with the grieving mourning process . When first brought FOXY-DAISY home from Humane Society . Took outside paused for a moment at FOX grave . Like my beloved FOX was giving me approval .

Molly was a beautiful girl and will live always in your heart. That is so sad that her life was cut short. One of my little girls that I had to re-home when I was so ill 4 years ago was killed by a truck last year when the kids left the door ajar and she got out. I felt so guilty for letting her go live elsewhere - tho at the time it seemed the right thing to do. I feel the sorrow in your post - and send my sincerest sympathy. She'll be with you always, just as all my beloved furkids who have crossed the bridge, will always be in my heart! I truly believe in the "Rainbow Bridge" and that someday I will be re-united with all my babies who have gone before.

It is so awful and wrenching to lose a dog. The hole in your heart feels like it will never go away. Henry has helped our family finally accept the deaths of our two beloved English cockers who died within a year of each other. Buddy was 15, and Daisy was 13, and they were completely devoted to our family and each other. Hopefully they are running free somewhere through a big field, scaring up birds like they used to. Bud and Daisy were wonderful hunting partners, and the woods and fields aren't the same without them. Neither are chilly nights curled up with a book and no speckled head on your knee. Your Molly was a beautiful girl and gave you back ten-fold the love you gave her. You were her world; you gave her everything she needed. It's amazing to me how much we cherish and then miss them when they're gone.
