I learned a lot from the fire evacuation experience... in California we have to be prepared for earthquakes so it would be similar preparations. I got a few additional items to have should we need to leave.
By the way...have you ever heard of a "life straw"? You can drink dirty water through it and it filters it. Now my family teases me for my preparedness.... they say they're just coming to my house since I have all the stuff and i told them Im locking the door...lol

I have heard of life straw! We use a gravity filter that can filter up to 4L at a time to clean our water.

Wow! Well done for coping with it all. 👌👌And sorry to hear about all the puking and sun burns and migraines. Crazy "time to relax"

We moved such short distances each day, but it was relaxing sort of....sort of.

The most stressy was Tuesday morning with the swollen eyes and then the trip home with a radiator that was possibly leaking (low; our engine temp was fine but it's too new to have this issue - it's a 2017 we got 2.5 years ago) and since it's a VW and all proprietary we couldn't get extra coolant anywhere for 312km when we were 1hr north of Toronto by then! The car goes in for service next Tuesday when Toby has a day off. Still under warranty thank goodness!

(as if I didn't hate this car enough - it's a standard transmission, that I learned on, and I had something bad happen right after we bought it so all of those bad feelings poured into the car and I just get stressy when I drive it, even though I'm a good driver and haven't stalled in...I'm not sure how long. 10 months I think, and then I only stalled because I was avoiding an accident and did the whole 'BRAKE WHAT CLUTCH' thing...but oh man, hill starts)
