I'm so sorry. When we had to let my Murray go at the age of 17 (200 lbs, Newfoundland mix), I agonized about it for days. I took him the morning he could not stand and he had started to whine (he had congestive heart failure and many other issues) - he never whined. I held him, and then I felt his body relax. I realized that he had been in so much pain, and he was glad to go.
I still miss him - it's been 8 1/2 years - but I know I did the right thing. He needed to be set free. |

Cathy I am so very sorry - my heart is breaking reading your post. I have been through it many times unfortunately so I truly understand.

You are correct. It was posted in 2008. It resurfaced last year, which was when I first saw it. and posted a reply at that time. I didn't look at the date because it showed up with the current posts. (Must be my "reading disabilities", that I didn't notice the original date!)
