Thought I would start a thread for pictures of Abby my beagle/treeing walker coonhound mix.
I'll start with some pics of her from yesterday after that big blizzard we had (here in my area of Long Island, NY, we got about 12-15 inches of snow). In one of the pics of her out back, you can tell how deep the snow is. For reference, she's about 18 inches tall, lol And in the pic where she's sitting looking at me, she's saying "Can I go out and play in it, Ma? Please???"

Millie loved the snow aswel when we got some but we don't get too much in the area I live in uk some places get much more but the little we did get she loved, burying her head in it mostly the werido haha. I think maybe she was sniffing at stuff under it. Nice photos

Aw thanks ruthc86, and Millie sounds adorable
Abby loves to eat the snow lol. She was eating a pretty good sized chunk of it this morning. She was also digging in it. She's not a big fan of the cold weather, she's been staying outside just long enough to stalk some of the birds she sees out there ![]() Thanks, Molly's Mom! The day before we were getting sleet and even hail. She was at the back door looking like she wanted to go out. I'd open the door, she'd just look outside and then walk away. She was finally desperate enough to go out for a minute or so, then came running right back in - she nearly smacked into the door! She loves romping around in the snow, though... and of course eating it.

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, things have been so busy for me at work I haven't had much time to be online.
But I'm back with some more Abby updates. She just saw a rabbit in our front yard and went nuts jumping up on the window and baying. I had to calm her down before she'd scratch up the window, lolI was showing pics of her to a friend who has American Foxhounds and she kept talking about how Foxhounds and Coonhounds have a bump on the back of their heads, an "occipital bump" I think she called it... and she told me that Abby has a "nice, flat Beagle head." Heh. Here are some more pics... ![]() Oops someone got a little too close to the camera! ![]() She loves her peanut butter ![]() ![]() Here she's arooo'ing to let me know she wants to play Last edited by AbbyTheCoongle; 03-02-2013 at 01:24 PM. |

Looks that way! As well as a huge desire to hunt rabbits lol, the one from before was just seen again and she went berserk wanting to go after it.
She also does that wheezing thing that my purebred beagle Penny used to do, I can't describe it but you guys probably know what I mean. I'm not sure if it's just limited to beagles or if other related hounds do it too. |
