Hello from Canada!!

I have been following the forum for a few months now and decided to become a member.

I don’t have a Beagle (yet!) but I plan on adopting one within the next year or so. I have an almost 3 year old Golden Retriever named Chloe. She is your typically GR – loving, friendly and energetic. I have done a ton of research on different breeds but I think a Beagle would fit perfectly within my household. I would love any suggestions or advise you have to help me on my quest for my Beagle. If anyone can recommend a local Ontario breeder (I live in the GTA area) that would be great!

I love reading your stories about your Beagles and can’t wait until I can share my own!

Welcome to Beagle World, its nice that you are reading all about beags before getting one. Don't forget about shelter beagles, there are so many that need homes. There are puppies, adults and seniors all looking for homes. I hope you find the perfect beagle soon

looking for a breeder is buying, not adopting. which is fine, but they are 2 different things.

If you go the breeder route. look for a breede who breeds for a real reason (not money or to just make puppies) one who OFA tests their dog(s). health testing is a must. and no this is not a general check up from the vet. who compete in trials or showing, actully using their dogs for a reason, and can prove their dogs are still beagles and still can do what is needed. even if you are not going to do that. Id recomend staying off sites like kijiji for breeders.
